Gorilla Doctors featured on 60 Minutes that aired on October 30 - watch Drs. Benard and Ricky, and research leads from the UC Davis EpiCenter for Emerging Infectious Disease Intelligence take correspondent Bill Whitaker on a journey through Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda to capture bats (to sample for potential pathogens) and trek mountain gorillas. It is the second segment titled ‘Pathogen X’.

The work featured in the 'Pathogen X' segment is a consortium of leading research partners to advance an understanding of virus emergence and transmission at important animal-human interfaces. This project is supported by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID award U01AI151814) and is part of the CREID Network, led by Dr. Christine Kreuder Johnson at the EpiCenter for Disease Dynamics, One Health Institute, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.
